The move out of my house went pretty well. The movers were clean, took apart furniture and wrapped it to protect it. They were on time and professional. That's about where the good of this experience ended.

I had the worst experience with LOCAL MOTION. Its not even 1 star worth company..please do not hire them for your moving. They are careless, useless and irresponsible. they broke so much of our stuff while moving and later do not even bother picking up the phones or return your calls. We had our house moved in the same area which is with in a 5 mile radius. I was home when they came to pack my stuff and did the initial walk through what stuff I wanted to move. We had purchased a brand new LCD 60" TV and they broke it. While they were packing the TV I told them to be very careful as it was brand new with the plastic seal still on at the borders. They told me they have been doing this for a long time and I need not worry. Right in front of me they flipped my TV and started unscrewing it. I again reminded them to be careful and they just smiled and dint bother to reply. They snapped and flipped my TV over and over which resulted to its damage. I had a doubt and as soon as we entered the new place the first thing I did was to switch the TV on to see if it was working. And there I was, It wasn't working. We had the samsung guy come in to see whats wrong and he said "TV panel needs to be replaced and it costs $1300". We were shocked to here this. On telling this to the local motion people they said we will look into it. Its been 8 months now they didn't reply back. Despite getting addition insurance they didn't reimburse the damage. Their phone is always on voicemail and they don't reply to emails. Just a suggestion for the people who are planning to go with local motion, please do not hire them for your services. They DAMAGE YOUR STUFF and they RUN AWAY WITH IT.

Starting off, the estimate originally given to me was WAY off, but I didn't find that out until they were halfway through my move. I would never have gone with them had I known the actual amount it would cost.

Ryan did not return our calls.

I filed a claim and was told I would be contacted in 7-14 business days. I was never contacted and reached out to the company and the contractor that was supposed to be contacting me several times. Why they had a contractor assigned to me to see if they could fix my shattered glass is beyond me. It took a couple of weeks for it to be determined that they would be issuing a payout instead of replacement. I was told a check would be sent to me between 5-10 days. That also did not happen. I made several phone calls to the company, left messages and emails for people and never had them returned. Finally I reached out to the general manager who refunded my credit card the amount I was owed that day. It took over 2 months from the time of my move for me to be refunded the money for damage to my property.

I hired Local Motion based on a friend’s recommendation. The day of the move, the movers showed up late and it was immediately apparent that these two were not trained professionals. They had rented a truck and came without the necessary tools and moving equipment needed to move heavy/fragile furniture. I later found out that these two were not actual Local Motion employees but had their own company who was then hired to complete my move. Not only did they damage several pieces of furniture and the house, they also informed me that, had I hired them directly I would have saved a significant amount of money. After reporting my concerns and the damage to Local Motion there was little to no action taken to make things right or explain why my move transpired the way it did. I would never recommend this company to anyone, ever.

I honestly would not recommend anyone use them. Their customer service is terrible when they damage your property.

Finally, after multiple calls and seven hours, a truck with an experienced crew arrived to help finish the job. A simple 4-Hour move turned into a 9-hour exhausting ordeal.

I have used Local Motion for at least (3) other moves. I could not be more disappointed with this one however. During the course of the move a nightstand and an art deco lamp were irretrievably broken. I filled out claim forms for both items and were told it would take (3) days to process them. It took 10. The resolution is a referral to St. Cloud based JEM re-modelers. Their website does NOT list furniture repair among their services , so I am at a loss as to how I am going to be made whole by working with this company. I will be contacting the MN Attorney General, The Better Business Bureau and MasterCard fraud protection. I haven't finished unpacking yet. Stay tuned.......

It was obvious after a very few minutes that these two young men had no real training in moving or even in driving a truck because the driver couldn't even back it up. We called the company and Corey the dispatcher assured us that the company had been vetted and they were very good. They arrived with no decent equipment like a small ramp for steps, a doorstop, wardrobe boxes, or even shrink wrap for furniture, even though it was raining.

Our moving experience was a nightmare! The company behaved unethically when they subcontracted our move with another company without our knowledge or permission. We had no knowledge of this subcontracted company until two young men with the truck the size of a U-Haul pulled up to move our two bedroom apartment. We told them the truck was too small. They insisted they could handle it.

The delivery to my new house did not go nearly as smoothly as the pick up from my old house. Boxes were stacked upside down and crushing the boxes below. They broke the doorbell mechanism off my wall, and shattered a piece of table glass.
