The atmosphere in the restaurant is busy and loud; just an observation. This is fine, as long as you know what you're getting yourself into (this is why we order takeout frequently).
We got a few dishes, spaghetti and meatballs, shrimp Florentine, and stuffed shells. All were good (I really liked the shells stuffing).
Raviolis were delicious! However the wait to get them on our to-go order was 20 minutes later than promised. It was a Saturday night, and they were swamped, and I mean SWAMPED. Even though we waited an extra amount of time for our order, it was hot, delicious and correct. Next time though I think I'll try ordering from the Eden Prairie location, the Maple Grove location is in just too busy of an area.
The lasagna that I ordered was great and the service there was spot on, but the garlic bread that we ordered tasted freezer burnt. But, WOW, that was awesome lasagna! Our waiter was so nice and even gave us a tour of the restaurant. Overall it was amazing! (Except for the garlic bread)
Recommending to anyone who wants a good experience meaning good food!
We've eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The last time we ate here, I ordered the lasagna. I was told that they had changed their recipe, so it wouldn't be the same as previously ordered. WOW, I thought their old lasagna recipe was just fine, but this one was fantastic. We usually get the caprese appetizer and it's always amazing (always the freshest tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil).
I'm not quite sure why but, this place feels like it's not part of disappointing society.
We do have better experiences if we dine in rather than carry out. The carry out food seems to be a bit "off", even though we order the same dishes whether we dine in or takeout. The portions seem much larger when dining in as well, the takeout seems to be a bit "rationed". When we dine in, there are always tons of leftovers, but when we have takeout, there are hardly any leftovers. Seems you get much more for your money if you dine in.
I'm giving this 5 stars because for the price point, this Italian food is excellent. (I've had better, but at much more expensive restaurants, or in Italy. You pay for what you get, and giving this 4 stars, I do not believe is fair - can't expect gourmet Italian at $$$ prices, but this is darn close).
Food tasted great! Came in a party of 6 with a reservation. We had to wait a while because they were really backed up but got us seated as soon as they could. The team dealt with the problem with smiles and with no signs of frustration. The food tasted great (as usual). Friendly, traditional atmosphere with lost of decorations. The portions were huge. We got 4 disherls and shared them between 6 people with loads of leftovers. Was very happy with the the visit, despite waiting a while for a table.
Many words I could use to try and describe but it is something you should experience. We could not finish it all.
